Petal Maze
A Poem
Rose petals...
Of Different colors
Strewn within distance
Pulling me to cross through a child’s unabashed gaze
Beckoning me to dance through the maze
I stood there ready
Her gentle eyes direct me
Yet I stand still aware
Just looking at the colorful scale
The petals are calling softly
To tiptoe through what awaits me
Faint-hearted to bruise the petals on the way
But frightened it’ll all slip away
I stood there
Frozen...
Hesitant...
Daunted...
To what awaits at the cusp.
