When Silence Speaks the Loudest

A Poem

My body on the mend

My heart torn into pieces

My thoughts fogged with scattered thoughts

My Soul longs for stillness.

I need Time

To acclimate this tiny frame

To pick up the pieces of this messy Being

To silent my mind

To quiet my Soul

Be still

Be quiet

And listen

I need Space

To Sit in Silence

To hear words of Wisdom

Healing my heart with Truth

Fending my mind off fear

Be still

That’s when I find comfort

In the Silence

With its sweet melodious sound of beckoning

With its thunderous voice encouraging

“You are on the right path, my Child

Use those messy pieces as stepping stones

Small steps

Gentle sweeps

Small ripples.”

Be Still, my Soul

Silence is speaking...

I am a writer at heart. My love for art and my creativity was stunted at a young age because of an elder’s opinion, as I was catapulted into a profession that I offered my love and passion for, and held it noble for 30+ years of my life.

I am a wife and a mom to 2 brilliant young adults/old souls. Going through midlife and empty-nesting, I have learned the power of true human connection.

I have a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy with 30+ experience in clinical practice, administration, academia, and academic administration. I am a Board-Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist, a Certified Health Coach, a Certified Life Coach, and a Certified Yoga Teacher.
