Guardian Angels

On Divine Protection

"See, I am sending an angel before you, to guard you on the way and bring you to the place I have prepared.”~ Exodus 23:20

When I was 5 years old, we were playing hide-and-seek and I fell out the window from the second story of our house, right into a rough stone pathway but alas, I suffered no injury at all . When I was 7, I fell beneath a running vehicle and the tire stopped miraculously an inch from head.

My guardian angel must have been so stressed out guarding me during my growing years. I always felt that there is a benevolent spirit beside me in my journey through life.

In the Book of Exodus, Yahweh sent His angel to guard the Israelites as they traveled in the desert on their way to the Promised Land. He commanded them to heed his voice and He will bring them to the place prepared for them by God. Like the Israelites, we are also traveling in the desert of life on the way to our Promised Land, our heavenly home. God, in His goodness assigned a guardian angel to take care of us during our perilous journey, from physical and spiritual dangers, until we go back to Him. In the gospel, Jesus warned his listeners not to despise the little ones because their angels always look upon the face of the Heavenly Father.

Father God, thank you for putting Your angels to take charge of us and guide us in all our ways. Thank You for saving me from all the physical and spiritual dangers in the past through Uriel, the Angel You have assigned to me. I pray for the grace to always listen to His voice as I continue to travel as a pilgrim in this desert of life until I finally arrive to You, my Home for all eternity, Amen.

Holy Guardian Angels, pray for us.

“Be ever more convinced that your guardian angel is really present, that he is ever at your side. “ ~St. John Bosco (1815-1888)
